A coalition of Black churches, organizations, community advocates and elected officials in Aurora united in February 2021 with the goal of making sure Aurora’s Black community has equitable access and awareness of the Covid-19 vaccine in Kane, DuPage, Kendall and Will Counties.

Black Vax Aurora is an umbrella initiative to accomplish this goal, with equity-focused community vaccination clinics for residents in the following CDC qualifying groups:

  • AGE: 65 years and older

 

  • OCCUPATION: Healthcare, First Responder, Education, Food & Agriculture, Manufacturing, Corrections Worker, US Postal Service, Public Transit Worker, Grocery Store Worker, Shelters/Adult Day Care, Government, Media, Higher Education, Food & Beverage Service, Construction, Religious Leaders.

 

  • MEDICAL CONDITION: Diabetes, Obesity, Pulmonary Diseases, Smoking, Heart Conditions, Chronic Kidney Disease, Cancer, Immunocompromised, Sickle Cell, Pregnancy, Person with a Disability
